  1. Hilal 
    These pendants are fittingly called hilals, meaning crescent moon. 
  2. Fish motif 
    There was a set of motifs, or images, used on these necklaces. See the silver fish shape? Fish symbolize fertility. 
  3. Coral beads 
    These should all be threaded in groups of three. Do you notice any sections with beads missing?

This necklace is a wearable sign that tells you a lot about a woman’s family life. Only married women wear this necklace. If they don’t want any more children, they stop wearing the necklace.
